American Airlines has officially launched its retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER, boasting more Business and Premium Economy seats than any other U.S. carrier
Passengers can indulge in 70 luxurious Flagship Suite® pods featuring sliding privacy doors, chaise lounge recline, and chef-curated fine dining
The revamped widebody jet debuts on its inaugural flight from New York (JFK) to Buenos Aires, marking the end of traditional First Class in favor of all-suite glamour
A breathtaking new era of international luxury travel has officially taken off, as American Airlines unveils its retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER. Reimagined from nose to tail, the flagship aircraft offers the most premium seating of any U.S. airline, delivering an ultra-exclusive travel experience built for pure comfort, high-end design, and seamless connectivity.
The star of the overhaul is the airline's groundbreaking Flagship Suite® experience, featuring 70 private business suites equipped with sliding privacy doors, expanded personal storage spaces, and an innovative chaise lounge seating position designed for ultimate inflight relaxation.
Making its grand commercial debut on a flight from New York (JFK) to Buenos Aires (EZE), the updated 777-300ER marks a major milestone as American Airlines celebrates its centennial year.
"Our Flagship® aircraft represents the next evolution of premium travel at American," declared Chief Commercial Officer Nat Pieper. "With elegantly designed interiors and spacious premium seating, the Boeing 777-300ER reflects our continued commitment to creating a travel experience around what customers value most."
In total, the widebody jet houses an astounding 144 premium seats:
70 Flagship Suite® seats complete with lie-flat comfort, custom textures, enhanced lighting, and sliding doors.
44 Premium Economy seats outfitted with sculpted headrests, adjustable footrests, wireless charging, and dedicated storage.
30 Main Cabin Extra seats providing extra legroom for long-haul journeys.
Five-Star Treatment from Gate to Gate
Passengers stepping into the Flagship® cabin will enjoy VIP treatment long before takeoff. The experience kicks off at the airport with Priority check-in, expedited security, priority boarding, and dedicated baggage handling.
Travelers can unwind inside American's exclusive Flagship® Lounges, sipping curated fine wines and enjoying chef-designed dishes—with expanded access to premier Flagship® Dining now available to all Flagship® customers.
Once airborne, suite passengers are treated to:
Multicourse gourmet dining paired with award-winning wines.
Plush luxury bedding, including mattress pads and cool-touch dual-sided pillows.
Premium amenity kits stocked with top-tier skincare products.
Gate-to-gate free high-speed Wi-Fi sponsored by AT&T for all AAdvantage® members.
Saying Goodbye to Traditional First Class
The arrival of the Flagship Suite® signals a bold shift in American's strategy. As part of the rollout, traditional Flagship® First seats will no longer be available for purchase on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for travel beginning November 19. Similarly, First Class on transcontinental Airbus A321XLR routes will be phased out for travel starting March 28, 2027.
By replacing old-school First Class with a larger, hyper-luxurious Business suite cabin, American is giving more travelers than ever before the chance to fly in world-class style across its major routes connecting the U.S. to London, Tokyo, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.
