A glamorous first-hand look inside the high-end amenities at The St. Regis Mexico City.
The Remède Spa is a stunning sky-high sanctuary featuring a 'crashing waves' soundtrack and ultra-firm massages.
Diana Restaurant’s Chef Diego Niño delivers a theatrical, modern Mexican menu that would make John Jacob Astor proud.
MEXICO CITY — It is one of the densest, fastest, and most beautifully chaotic megalopolises on the planet. But high above the roaring traffic of the iconic Paseo de la Reforma, a pristine, sky-high playground of pure, unadulterated luxury is quietly beckoning well-heeled travelers.
I recently stepped inside The St. Regis Mexico City to immerse myself in their elite amenities. After experiencing a spa treatment and dinner, both provided by St. Regis Mexico City, I discovered firsthand how this legendary property delivers a masterclass in urban escapism.
A First-Class Welcome to the Clouds
My high-octane luxury experience began the exact moment I arrived at the sleek tower's ground floor. I was met by a delightfully friendly bellman before being escorted across a beautifully clear, spotless lobby. There was no fumbling for directions here; a polished hotel attendant personally guided me to the elevators, whisking me straight up into the clouds.
Stepping out onto the spa floor, the frantic energy of the capital instantly evaporated.
The gorgeous spa lobby acts as an immediate sensory reset. I was enveloped in a profoundly pleasant aroma while the soothing, ambient soundtrack of crashing waves played softly in the background. It easily commands its reputation as Travel Today’s 2026 Most Relaxing Spa in Mexico City.
The 'Wow-Factor' Gym Putting Rivals to Shame
For those who prefer to unwind with a workout, the hotel’s fitness offering was nothing short of a revelation for me. "It's a huge gym that completely puts others to shame” I noted in my travel log.
Boasting an incredible layout and massive windows that frame staggering views of the urban sprawl below, the facility is packed with an impressive amount of actual, heavy-duty training equipment rather than the token treadmills found in standard hotel setups.
Culinary Drama at Diana: A Generation-Defining Feast
Once pampered and energized, the ultimate evening awaited me at Diana Restaurant, where the hotel has brilliantly woven in the undeniable "cool factor" of modern Mexico City—a sophisticated feat that would undoubtedly make the hotel's founding father, John Jacob Astor, incredibly proud.
The kitchen is helmed by the phenomenal Chef Diego Niño, a culinary powerhouse operating squarely at the top of his generation. He is easily Travel Today’s 2026 Best Chef in Mexico City.
Niño deeply understands how to architect a menu, offering an impressive departure from traditional, predictable hotel fare. Instead, his menu seamlessly incorporates local, authentic street culture—featuring nods to La Guerrerense and the spirit of Bourdain and Michelin. It is an absolute must-visit destination if you are only in the city for a few days.
My meal kicked off with high drama. I sipped on an incredibly smooth, suave glass of Arette Blanco tequila—which leaves a delightful "little kiss" on the palate—paired with a deceptively simple yet entirely excellent Greek salad.
MY DIANA DINNER CHECKLIST: What to Order
• TO START: The Greek Salad (Deceptively simple, entirely excellent)
• THE DRINK: Arette Blanco Tequila (Incredibly suave and amazing)
• THE ENTREÉ: The Tlacoyo, Perfectly Cooked Ribeye,
• THE FINALE: The Artistic Blue Talavera Porcelain Dessert
When it comes to the main event, I highly encourage you to bypass the standard menu and ask for a direct chef recommendation. I was treated to a theatrical table-side introduction from Chef Niño himself, detailing a menu that elevates traditional staples into fine art.

My beautifully cooked, melt-in-your-mouth ribeye was served alongside perfectly executed beans and a cactus dish that can only be described as a total "wow."
A Masterpiece of a Finale
But it was the dessert course that truly stopped the show for me.
Brought out by Antonio—a stellar, wonderfully attentive waiter who provided me with excellent service throughout the evening—the final course was an incredible visual masterpiece. Modeled to look like intricate, traditional blue-and-white Talavera porcelain, this dessert is an artistic triumph that tasted even better than it looked.

St. Regis Mexico City
With its flawless layout, breathtaking views, and unmatched hospitality, my time spent exploring the very best of the St. Regis left me thoroughly awestruck. For an afternoon of high-altitude bliss and generation-defining dining, this hidden oasis is officially the best ticket in town.
