United Airlines has announced a major new route return to Venezuela, reopening a vital sky-bridge between Houston and Caracas that has been shuttered for nearly a decade.

In a move that signals a bold new era of American aviation dominance in Latin America, the world’s largest airline confirmed it will resume nonstop daily service from George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS) starting August 11.

The announcement marks a glorious comeback for United, which operated flights to the region for 20 years before suspending service in 2017. Now, thanks to a powerhouse partnership with the U.S. government, the "friendly skies" are returning to the Venezuelan capital.

A HUB OF OPPORTUNITY

United’s Houston hub is already the undisputed heavyweight champion of Latin American travel, boasting up to 100 flights a day to over 50 sun-soaked destinations.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy hailed the move as a landmark achievement under President Donald Trump’s leadership, noting the flight's "critical" role in transporting oil sector workers to help ramp up production and fuel the economy.

"This flight reopens a key economic gateway, creates new business opportunities and makes it easier for families to reconnect with loved ones," the airline said in a statement.
